Orient Watch announced last November the launch of two new GMT models (WZ0061DJ and WZ0071DJ) of its Orient Star series. These models feature the new 40P53 caliber, fully in-house made that allows hand-winding, hacking and also featuring a power reserve and GMT complication. The caliber has a daily accuracy of 25 sec to -15 sec, 22 jewels, six beats per second and a power reserve of 40 hours.
The watch case and is made out of stainless steel, and the dials glass is sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating. The screw-down see-through case back is made out of crystal glass. Water resistant up to 10 bar, the watch diameter is 41.50 mm and 13.70 mm thick.
Dials readability is just excellent, the power reserve indicator is placed at twelve o’clock, the date window placement at nine o’clock, following the brand classic look.
The red GMT hand might be used as a dual time indicator with the hour hand being adjustable independently as the time of day hands continue to mark time. It is the perfect watch for the international traveler. This watch is available in two dial colors — black (WZ0061DJ) and blue(WZ0071DJ).
The price tag for this watch in Japan is 120,000 yen, which is about $ 1,020 USD (€882).
